RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests include phenomena observed on surfaces with different wettability and using these properties to modify surface functions in various applications. For example, applying superhydrophobic coatings on metal surfaces can result in slip boundary conditions at the liquid and solid interface, which can bring about an excellent drag reduction in marine applications. For another example, superhydrophobic sponges can be used to achieve efficient oil and water separation in oil-contaminated waters.
